Istanbul Energy Emphasizes Green Transformation at the 111th Anniversary of Electricity Coming to Istanbul Panel
The 111th anniversary of the arrival of electricity in Istanbul was commemorated with a panel organized in collaboration with the Istanbul Branch of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) and Perpa Trade Center. This special event, which detailed the historical journey of electricity in Istanbul, explored the energy transformation from past to present and future energy policies.
In his speech at the panel, our General Manager, Dr. Yüksel Yalçın, highlighted the transformation processes in energy infrastructure and emphasized the importance of sustainable energy policies. Addressing green transformation, energy management, and urban-scale energy supply security, Yalçın shared his valuable insights on the strategic steps that need to be taken for Istanbul's energy infrastructure.
The panel examined the technical and historical aspects of electricity's arrival in Istanbul, and comprehensive assessments were made of the changes and future trends in the energy sector. Critical topics such as the reshaping of cities through energy use, the integration of renewable energy sources, and energy efficiency policies were among the key topics discussed with the participants.
We would like to thank the EMO Istanbul Branch, Perpa Trade Center, and all participants for their contributions to this meaningful event. Drawing inspiration from Istanbul's energy history, we continue our efforts to ensure that it moves confidently into the future.
