Sustainable Energy Seminar in Çatalca: Change for the Future, Return for Nature
The "Change for the Future with Sustainable Energy, Transform for Nature" seminar, organized by the Çatalca Municipality to contribute to Istanbul's sustainability vision, was held at the Çatalca National Garden with a large turnout.
The seminar was moderated by our General Manager, Dr. Yüksel Yalçın. Speakers included Gökhan Taneri Vural, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council Member and Chair of the Environment, Renewable Energy, and Climate Change Commission; Çatalca Mayor Erhan Güzel; and journalist and author Cem Seymen.
The participants emphasized the necessary steps to combat the climate crisis, the importance of energy efficiency policies, and the need to expand zero-waste practices. The role of individual awareness and the collaboration of local governments in this transformation process was particularly emphasized.
Our General Manager, Dr. Yüksel Yalçın made the following remarks in his opening speech:
“A sustainable future is possible not only through corporate policies, but through the joint efforts of all segments of society. We are gathered here today to discuss how green transformation can create a powerful impact, starting locally, and to embrace this process together.”
During the seminar, participants were provided not only with knowledge but also with experience. Numerous topics, ranging from renewable energy technologies and waste management to energy efficiency and individual environmental responsibilities, were addressed with current data, field-based application examples, and solution suggestions.
This meeting was considered not just a momentary event for Istanbul's environmental transformation vision; it was a powerful step in fostering public awareness. Participants reached a consensus that such locally based knowledge-sharing organizations should be implemented in various districts of Istanbul.
As Istanbul Energy, we are not only an institution that produces and manages energy; we are also a companion committed to fostering a culture of sustainable living. We continue to support Istanbul's goal of becoming a climate-friendly city through humanitarian engagement as well as technical investments, and we are determined to add value to nature, society, and the future.
